All These Long Years Later is a chronological collection of six short stories, set in 1950s’
Vancouver landmarks and their surrounds: the old Dunbar movie theatre, Chaldecott Park,
Burnaby North and the then wilderness of Alta Lake and Whistler. They follow Marcie Wyllie
from her initial terrifying days in Lord Kitchener elementary school through the next six
grades. The first five, written in much the same vein as Erma Bombreck and the original Bill
Cosby.
The sixth, is the much more sombre and historically absolutely accurate account of her first-
person witnessing of the collapse of the Second Narrows Bridge in June 1958. So many
memories — All These Long Years Later.
